About darn time.
Star Tours getting an Upgrade

Apparently they've already gotten Anthony Daniels and Frank Oz to do voices for it and it's probably just going to
be...well, essentially what they did to the movies. Better graphics, same storyline.

ETA: Also, how cute are these backstage posters?

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on 18 nights, specifically November 10, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 29, December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 18. Tickets go on sale May 1.

The speakers for this are generally fun. Neil Patrick Harris has been there the last two years, so....maybe.

Remy Appearing Daily at Epcot. Remy the rat from Ratatouille is making daily appearances at Les Chefs de France restaurant in the France pavilion in the World Showcase in Epcot. Remy, an Audio-Animatronics puppet, appears on top of a moving food cart pushed by his human sidekick, the Maitre D'. The duo engage in a kind of mobile comedy act from 12:30 pm-6:00 pm.

Epcot: explore the World more. We missed basically all the pavillions before Germany, which includes Mexico(who added a new ride) and Norway(world's most misnamed ride: MAELSTROM which ought to be named KINDA DAMPISH, ALSO A FILM ABOUT FJORDS.)

Hollywood/MGM Studios: New area! Pixar Place currently has one new ride, which is similar to Buzz Lightyear in the Magic Kingdom. Who knew? But I want to eat out at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre. Your table is a car and they show clips of terrible old SF! WIN.

Magic Kingdom: The Wildest Ride in the Weeelderness! Also, Hall of Presidents. They've added Obama now. Hurrah!

Animal Kingdom: Rafiki's Planet Watch. I've been to WDW twice and have failed to visit this both times. I am told it is awesome. All I know is there are tigers who will probably try to steal Jon's hat, which is always good times.

On conclusion, this is awesome.

I <3 this song.

Fact sheet for All Star Music, which does have Family Suites.

$265 for a Ft. Wilderness Cabin vs. $184 a night for ASM Suite. But the amenities at Ft. will be a LOT nicer.

ETA: Or, after the AAA discount on rooms, it becomes $212[cabin] vs. $156[suite] vs. $139.40[two standard rooms{8 people}]

Hrm...$35.34/night[cabin{6}], $26.06/night[suite{6}], $12.37/night[two rooms{8}] or $23.30/night[two rooms{6}]

....well, that's interesting.

This way lies madness.
This is Disneyland, rather than Disney World, but it's interesting.

Small World gets revamped.

This article has picture of Alice and the White Rabbit, as well as Aladdin and Jasmine. Me, I think they're cute. There's also a short video from the AP on YouTube that shows more of them, though none are in motion yet.

Space Mountain to close for renovations in 2009

Hey, stumbled upon this on CNN.com. It says Space Mountain will be closed for "several months" starting 4/09 to re-do the ceiling and queue area.

Let's hope it's open again by December!

Current Mood: dorky

One year! And what's on TV but Travel Channel's Disney on a Dime, featuring Fort Wilderness cabins. AWESOME.

Info sheet on the cabins.

I don't think we got it quite right the first time....do over?
The plan:

First week of December, 2009, we're going back to Disney.

Passporter is already on its way here. Current thought is that we're renting one of the Ft. Wilderness cabins. So get people together, link 'em here, and we'll get ready.

Now then, a memory.Collapse )

This is the soft re-open.

I kinda like the getting two rooms idea better, as long as we remember to bring our own coffee pot this time.

Foodstuffs for BJs shopping:

Granola bars(flavors?)
Single serving drink mixes

Now as for tomorrow, I get off work at 5. Mali, can you pick me up so we can hit BJ's and Target? Then by the time we get done with that, we can go pick up Beth from work and then we all head back to my house around 8:30. Jon, c'mon by around 9 and we'll order pizza. Mum gave me coupons for Papa Gino's, but we can try someone else if people don't feel like that.

ETA: For my own information.

Query: do we want to try to do this?

Just a quick note:

When I went grocery shopping yesterday I noticed that the Coinstar offers no fee if you turn your change into a gift card. Among the options was a Disney card to be used at Disney stores and so on. I would assume that Disney World counts, so if folks have a jar of pennies or some such, it might be a nice spot to drop them into.

Also, a week!
